Six Ways to Use Magic 9 Balm This Summer

Six Ways to Use Magic 9 Balm This Summer

Summer is a lovely season for embracing your natural skin glow, but it brings its own challenges, from long days in the sun to humid evenings and often intense heat that can dehydrates without you noticing.

Magic 9 Balm has been a faithful summer companion for many of our customers for years, and these are six of the most loved ways to use it during the warmer months.

Magic 9 Balm nourishes dry legs in the summer

Dry legs

Legs tend to dry out faster in summer, with sun exposure, air conditioning, and more time spent outdoors all taking their toll. A small amount of Magic 9 Balm, warmed between your fingertips and smoothed gently over dry areas, helps to deeply nourish and restore softness without any greasiness or heaviness.

Shea butter, cocoa butter, and oat oil sink in quickly, leaving a natural, healthy-looking sheen that works beautifully with or without a tan.

It is one of those little rituals that makes getting dressed in the morning feel like a pleasure, particularly when shorter dresses and shorts are back in rotation!

Dry and sun-parched lips

Lips lose moisture faster than almost anywhere else on the face, and a day in the sun can leave them feeling dry and uncomfortable quite quickly. A small amount of Magic 9 Balm pressed gently onto the lips restores softness and hydration, leaving a natural sheen that feels comfortable and looks beautiful.

Many people wear less makeup in summer, and the balm works perfectly as a standalone lip treatment, giving a soft, natural finish on its own.

For an evening look, it sits just as well alongside a darker eye, adding a glossy, effortless quality that feels very much of the season. Re-apply as often as you need throughout the day.

Cool sunburnt skin with lavender, peppermint and calendula

Sun-parched skin

After a long day in the sun, skin can feel tight, dry, and a little fragile, whether that is on your face, shoulders, décolletage, or anywhere else that caught the heat. This is the moment when a balm rich in soothing, replenishing plant oils makes a real difference.

Lavender and chamomile are both known for their calming, soothing properties and work beautifully on skin that has been stressed by heat and sun. Calendula is deeply nourishing and helps to restore the skin's comfort, while cooling peppermint brings a welcome sense of relief to skin that feels warm and tight. Warm a small amount between your fingertips and press gently into the skin rather than rubbing, to let the balm sink in without adding any further irritation.

Sunburned skin

If your skin has caught a little too much sun, Magic 9 Balm can help to bring some comfort and calm. The lavender, chamomile, and calendula in the formula are all known for their gentle, soothing qualities, and the rich plant butters help to keep the skin feeling soft and supported while it recovers.

Apply a small amount very gently to the affected area, warming it between your fingertips first so it melts to the lightest possible texture before it touches the skin. It is a lovely thing to keep in the fridge during the summer months, as the cool temperature adds an extra layer of comfort. As always with sunburned skin, drink plenty of water and keep the area out of further sun while it heals.

Calm frizzy hair with shea butter and cocoa butter

Frizzy hair

Humidity and heat are the classic enemies of smooth hair, and Magic 9 Balm is a surprisingly effective solution that many customers have discovered over the years.

Run your fingers lightly over the surface of the balm, allowing a small amount to melt naturally onto your fingertips, then rub your fingers together gently and stroke the balm down through your hair towards the ends.

A little really does go a long way here, so start with less than you think you need and build up gradually. For extra frizzy or afro hair, you may find you need a slightly more generous amount to get the smoothing effect you are looking for.

On very humid days, a light reapplication towards the end of the day keeps things looking neat and nourished.

Nourishing face mask

For a deeply nourishing treatment that your skin will thank you for, apply a generous layer of Magic 9 Balm to clean skin and leave it to sink in for as long as you can, ideally twenty minutes or more. The rich combination of shea butter, cocoa butter, oat oil, and plant extracts works to replenish and restore the skin deeply, leaving it feeling genuinely soft and comfortable rather than just temporarily smoothed.

It is a lovely thing to do on a slow summer evening, perhaps while reading or winding down before bed. Simply remove any excess with a warm, damp cloth and allow the remaining balm to continue working overnight.
